AVID 1 and AVID 2

Grade Level: 9-10               RBV Graduation: Elective                  UC/CSU A-G: None


Prerequisite: 2.0 Grade Point Average for AVID 2 and AVID coordinator’s signature

AVID elective courses are designed to prepare underrepresented students for entrance into four-year colleges with emphasis on preparation for college entrance and placement exams, analytical writing and study skills, such as note taking and tutorial groups.  Students should be enrolled in college prep classes.

Prerequisite: 2.0 Grade Point Average for AVID 2 and AVID coordinator’s signature

AVID elective courses are designed to prepare underrepresented students for entrance into four-year colleges with emphasis on preparation for college entrance and placement exams, analytical writing and study skills, such as note taking and tutorial groups.   11-12 AVID will emphasize SAT preparation, the college entrance essay, financial aid, and college applications.  Qualified seniors may receive Senior Seminar Credit; see instructor for details.
